How Men and Women Judge Each Other On Dating Sites

Men and women take on dating apps with much different perspectives. Men are aesthetic creatures. If they like what they see, they want it. If they don’t like what they see, forget about it. Because of this trait that all men share men are more likely to use dating app due to the fact that dating apps are quick paced and you decide who you like based on looks and appearance rather than profile detail. On the other hand, women typically judge by the qualities of men more than by their looks. For men to be chosen a pretty face is not enough.

“The theory goes, women seek loyal partners who can provide resources for them and the potential child.”

Knowing this fact about men, that they seek physical attractiveness above all else, women use enhancements on photographs to get more attention. Even Instagram has filters to make the lighting in your kitchen seem like a runway. You have to look past the filter to see the real girl because almost all women use some type of alteration. This might be the wrong route to go through because men that see women with noticeably altered photos or filters as untrustworthy.

Anyway you swing it the odds are in your favor if you have a good looking profile picture. Looks can take you a long way but they are not everything.

“Evolutionary motivations are unconscious and operate without our explicit awareness. Despite social norms and the availability of contraceptives, evolutionary theorists believe that innate, instinctual drives to reproduce still govern our behavior.”

Although this theory may seem too simple to work based on all of our scientific advancements and cultural growth it still seems to pop up enough in the dating game that it will almost always be a valid excuse as to why men and women act the way they do.
