How To Feel Body Positive In A Relationship

Advice For Both Men And Women

Man, woman, or child, no one should be ashamed of what our bodies look like. Society does an excellent job of bringing us down so we need to make sure to build one another up within our relationships. It is your duty as another human being to make the other person feel good about themselves. Embrace your own body and that will reflect onto your partner.

Something that you can try, men and women alike, is softly touching your body. Feel your stretch marks, your curves, your hair, feel it all. Embrace yourself, touching will make it feel more real to you and not a mysterious stranger that you look at everyday in the mirror. Own your body, embrace your body and soon you will then love your body.

When your partner compliments you, truly listen, don’t just brush it off as if he is making it up or it is not true. Bask in the complement, own it and enjoy the grace he has given you to feel comfortable in your own beautiful skin. Men, mean what you say when you give compliments to your girlfriend because if you mean it then they will be able to accept them rather than just blow them off and not believe you. And women, when complimenting your boyfriend do not use comparisons to make him feel more masculine. Create a compliment that is all his own so that he understands you are coming from a truly compassionate place. Love one another and hopefully with that we will come to love ourselves.
