How To Get The MOST Out Of The Last Weekend Of The Summer
Hily shares its tips for an incredibly fun-filled Labor Day Weekend
Summer is running to a close but we still have some time left to make it unforgettable. Labor Day in the USA is creeping up ahead, so HILY Team wants to make sure the last long weekend of the summer works out to be much more enjoyable than you've ever thought.
Do What You TRULY Love
Plan your weekend around things you WANT to do, but not the ones you HAVE to do. Every one of us has favorite activities swallowed by the everyday routine. Set aside some time for your hobbies. Just take another look at your Labor Day plans. Be honest: do you feel genuinely excited about what you've got on the agenda? If those activities do not fill you with joy, no matter how exciting they seem on the outside, indulge in something that makes your eyes light up.
Try Something New And Exciting
"Well, you could say, I love watching Netflix and snacking in bed, but that’s not what I want to do the whole weekend!"
We feel you. That’s why we’re encouraging everybody to try something different for a change. It doesn’t have to be skydiving or zorbing (but if you’re up for it, zorb away!). Remember that rooftop restaurant you've always wanted to go to? Or the beach party on your Facebook events list you've most likely forgotten about? Well, this is the perfect time to just do it!
Get Into A Vacation State Of Mind
No matter how much we love our job, work is work and every once in a while we all need to unplug. Labor Day Weekend is the perfect opportunity to do it! We know 40% of businesses in the U.S. still work on Labor Day, and you probably keep getting tons of emails.
Set up an out of office message, maybe it’ll encourage people to go and have fun as well.
Sure, in cases of emergency you should remain easy to reach. However, make sure that everyone at your office knows that is the only reason to disturb you during the long weekend.
Go On A Date
Do you know what else is Labor Day Weekend good for? Dates! (We just had to tell you that ;) Take your partner to that rooftop restaurant! If you don’t have one you know where to find a compatible date really fast (hint hint)!
Another great idea is taking yourself on a date! Sounds cheesy? When was the last time you spent some quality time alone? We bet it was a while ago. Treat yourself to something nice. You deserve it!
